KATHMANDU, Sept 29 - As many as 10 people have died and 39 are still missing and feared dead in the inundation and landslides caused by recurrent torrential downpours in Dadeldhura district in the past few days.

Of the 39 people who went missing in the massive floods, ten bodies were recovered on Monday and Tuesday, reported our correspondent Chitranga Thapa, quoting the district police.

The Sirha river has swamped villages in Sirsha VDC-2, 4 and 5.

Mostly women and children have been affected by the deluge, the report said.

Rescue operations led by a team from the security forces and the Nepal Red Cross Society is yet to return from the area.

It is assumed that several other people could have died and are feared missing in the floods. (hb)
